1366. Resistors and
Resistance Boxes
a) Constructional Details :
The heavy Brass blocks are boud to the Vulcanite plate by means of
nut and screw, assuring rigid fixation and eliminating any chance of
contact error creeping due to loosening. The Plugs and the lugs are
cut to fine taper and are interchangeable. The plug heads are
machine moulded of heavy insulated bakelite in beautiful shape.
b) Technical Details :
Great care is taken in preparing the wire wound resistors. Selected
double covered Eureka or Manganin wire is wound on the bakelite
spools. Sufficient Ageing and heat Treatment is processed through,
to avoid any appreciable shifting of values. After calibrations; the
solder joints are sealed.
The Resistors are standardised on the internationally acclaimed
Vernier Potentiometer and Decade Bridge. Accuracy of ±.05% to ±.1%
attained
c) Double Nut Binding System
The most common defect associated with plug in design Resistace
Boxes (loosening of the contact blocks or disturbance of the
contacts between plugs and lugs with the removal of the plug) has
been eliminated in the Double Nut Binding System. This system
facilitates quick change of any accidently damaged resistor without
disturbing the adjacent one. The instrument will also continue
functioning. |
