1646. Cathetometer 'L' Type
The instrument is designed for use in the horizontal and vertical planes. The vertical guide bar is made of gun-metal and is of special design. It rotates on ball centres having bearings and can be clamped in any position. The cast iron frame supporting the vertical guide bar is fitted with levelling screws.
The sliding carriage is made of Metal and is so designed that its motion is tested for uniformity and straightness: The Telescope is mounted on a sub carriage which slides on the main carriage and is moved by a fine pitchscrew for fine adjustment to the Telescope height. The telescope is fitted with Achromatic object glass.
Ramsden Eyepiece with fine cross line is provided. Iron Base and the Telescope are provided with sensitive spirit levels for levelling purposes. The Telescope is focussed by rack and pinion. Range from 3ft. to infinity. Reading to 0.02 mm. or 0.01 mm. vernier, as desired.

1647. The vertical bar 50 cms length.

1648. The vertical bar 100 cms length.

1649. Cathetometer as above fitted with Micrometer Head controlling movement to the Telescope carriage giving direct reading to 0.01 mm.

1650. a) Range of bar 50 cm.
b) Range of bar 100 cm.

Vernier Microscopes

1651. Vernier Microscope
With cross motion. This microscope is very useful in Newton's Ring experiments and graph readings. The added feature is that a sliding carriage is fitted on the top of the carriage which moves at right angles to the horizontal motion (see figure) by means of rack and pinion. This motion is also graduatl d in mms having vernier reading of.1 mm. The optical platform over which slides the Horizontal carriage is of Brass metal and thereby making the instrument rust proof.

(see figure) by means of rack and pinion. This motion is also graduatl d in mms having vernier reading of.1 mm. The optical platform over which slides the Horizontal carriage is of Brass metal and thereby making the instrument rust proof.
Complete in cabinet.

1652. Vernier Microscope
As above but opticaI platform over which slides the carriage is of cast iron instead of brass complete in box Vernier Microscopes Horizontal and Vertical.
General Specifications
The heavy cast base is fitted with leveling screws, with the top machined over, which slides a metal carriage. The slide can be clamped at any position by means of clamping screw. Fine adjustment for final reading is with a micrometer screw, microscope with rack and pinion is fitted on this vertical carriage.

1653. Travelling Microscope
Provided with horizontal & Vertical movement with Scales of inlaid Stainless steel and the guide ways of non-rusting Brass Metal complete in Box.
