It has two glass tubes, one closed at the top and other tube open whose lower ends are connected together by 1 meter of rubber tubing. Both tubes are mounted on sliding brackets with a provision to lock at any point. Metallic strip with a meter scale graduated from 0 to 100cm fitted on heavy iron base with leveling screws without mercury provided with pressure rubber tube.
