Prepared (Permanent) Slides
Fixed and stained specimens sealed with a coverslip.

Wet Mount Slides
Fresh, temporary slides where the specimen is placed in liquid (usually water or saline) and covered with a coverslip.
Common for observing live organisms like protozoa or algae.
Smear Slides
Often used in pathology and microbiology (e.g., blood, bacterial smears).
Specimen is spread thinly across the slide and stained.
Section Slides
Thin slices of tissue (often paraffin-embedded) stained and mounted.
Used in histology and pathology to study cellular structures.
